KINGDOM HEARTS 4 REVEAL TRAILER PS4
Even Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin skipped the Nintendo Switch, despite running on the PS4 and Xbox One.
The big Square Enix games tend to be technical showcases with highly detailed graphics and the Switch - which is less powerful than the most recent PlayStation and Xbox consoles - wouldn't be able to run them. The reason that the Switch is getting less Square Enix content than PlayStation (and even Xbox) systems is due to hardware. Related: GeForce Now Leak Looks Like It's Predicting The Future Square Enix is still more in the Sony camp, with games like FF7 Remake getting timed exclusivity on PlayStation platforms, the upcoming FF16 being a PS5 exclusive, and the upcoming Forspoken being a PS5 console exclusive. The relationship between Square Enix and Nintendo has had its peaks and valleys over the years, but the two companies are seemingly on good terms at the moment. The Switch just isn't a great system for cloud streaming, which means that a visually demanding game like Kingdom Hearts 4 would run poorly on the system if it can run at all, especially if its predecessors are suffering such major issues. The Switch version of Kingdom Hearts 3 is particularly bad in terms of its visuals, but all of the games suffer from varying frame issues and input lag. The bigger concern is that the Nintendo Switch cloud versions of the Kingdom Hearts Switch games are notoriously terrible, even with a high-speed Internet connection. The cloud streaming might be understandable for Kingdom Hearts 3, as it's a gorgeous game with fast-paced action, that might be too much for the Switch to handle, but it's strange that the same streaming technique had to be used for the older games. This suggests that Square Enix was unable or unwilling to optimize the games to run on Nintendo hardware, even though the first two Kingdom Hearts HD collections were available on the PS3.
The Kingdom Hearts series is on Nintendo Switch, but with a caveat. The Kingdom Hearts HD collections, Kingdom Hearts 2.8, and Kingdom Hearts 3 are available on the Nintendo Switch as cloud streaming games, which means they require a fast (and preferably wired) Internet connection in order to work.
The only new Kingdom Hearts game available on Nintendo Switch is Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory, which is a rhythm game with a far simpler gameplay loop and visual style than the mainline games. The Nintendo Switch owners of the world shouldn't expect things to change with Kingdom Hearts 4, as the game is unlikely to come to the system, based on Square Enix's previous history, and the aging hardware of the Nintendo Switch. Despite this, the Kingdom Hearts series hasn't been a major player on Nintendo systems, with the majority of the Nintendo Kingdom Hearts titles being spin-offs on handheld systems. Sora has had at least one major role on the Nintendo Switch, as he was the final DLC character added to Super Smash Bros. Related: Most Difficult JRPG Bosses You May Not Know About With that being said, the Kingdom Hearts 4 trailer lacked a release date, so it could very well spend years in development.
The fact that Kingdom Hearts fans had to wait nearly fifteen years between Kingdom Hearts 2 and Kingdom Hearts 3 meant that no one expected a fourth mainline entry so soon.

It seems the GeForce Now leak is legit, as Kingdom Hearts 4 is real, and will almost certainly be coming to PC in the future. The only evidence to suggest that Kingdom Hearts 4 was on the way was a mention in the GeForce Now leak, which many people thought was a placeholder name, or something that was speculative on the part of Nvidia.
